This seems to only happen to me after a period of inactivity, as i've only seen the dock disappear after logging back in from the lock screen. I can't reproduce it, other than to say it happens about once every week or two. My go-to solution was to log out and log in again, though I can confirm

It's happening very frequently for me again. I decided to wait for 20.04 basically, meanwhile the "fix" i've found is to go to https://extensions.gnome.org/extension/307/dash-to-dock/ and uninstall- install the extension, it would bring the dock back without a need to reboot. -- You received
