[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1851715] Re: Screen brightness adjustment delay in Xorg sessions only
Thank you for reporting this bug to Ubuntu. Ubuntu 19.10 (eoan) reached end-of-life on July 17, 2020. See this document for currently supported Ubuntu releases: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Releases We appreciate that this bug may be old and you might not be interested in discussing it any more. But if you are then please upgrade to the latest Ubuntu version and re-test. If you then find the bug is still present in the newer Ubuntu version, please add a comment here telling us which new version it is in and change the bug status to Confirmed. ** Changed in: mutter (Ubuntu) Status: New => Won't Fix ** Changed in: xorg-server (Ubuntu) Status: New => Won't Fix -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to xorg-server in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1851715 Title: Screen brightness adjustment delay in Xorg sessions only Status in mutter package in Ubuntu: Won't Fix Status in xorg-server package in Ubuntu: Won't Fix Bug description: Every time I adjust my laptop's screen brightness using the dedicated brightness keys, there is a substantial delay between when I press the button and the screen adjusts. Sometimes it even "twitches" and decreasing the brightness by tapping the button two times will quickly drop the brightness all the way to the lowest setting after the delay takes place. I've noticed the issue in the default Ubuntu session and in my current vanilla gnome-session. It also doesn't matter which extensions I have installed. The keys work flawlessly in Windows so it isn't a hardware issue. I have been meaning to report this for a while and have just never gotten around to it until just now.
