[Desktop-packages] [Bug 221297] Re: Wrong resolution for DVI connected Monitor on startup [X3100 GMA]
Ubuntu 8.04 (hardy) reached end-of-life on May 12, 2011. This bug report has sat incomplete for over eight years without any comment or response to comment #14. Closing now as 'Invalid'. ** Changed in: xorg-server (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete => Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to xorg-server in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/221297 Title: Wrong resolution for DVI connected Monitor on startup [X3100 GMA] Status in xf86-video-intel: Invalid Status in xorg-server package in Ubuntu: Invalid Bug description: Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-intel I have a Thinkpad T61 with an Intel X3100 GMA. I also have the advanced mini dockingstation with a DVI connector. The Problem is that the intel graphics driver seems to prioritize the "wrong" way. VGA comes first, then LVDS and then TMDS-1. So when I boot up with the laptop docked in and the external monitor connected to TMDS-1 I'll get only the resolution of the internal monitor (WXGA) instead of SXGA+. Everytime this happens I must execute "xrandr --output TMDS-1 --auto --output LVDS --off". Strange to say VGA comes first so when I connect my Monitor via VGA instead of DVI everything applies as expected. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 221297] Re: Wrong resolution for DVI connected Monitor on startup [X3100 GMA]
nclm, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? If so, could you please test for this with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com /daily-live/current/ . If it remains an issue, could you please run the following command in the development release from a Terminal (Applications-Accessories-Terminal), as it will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report: apport-collect -p xorg-server REPLACE-WITH-BUG-NUMBER Thank you for your understanding.
