-- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to gdm in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/600870 Title: irresponsive after finishing login Status in “gdm” package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: Binary package hint: gdm After typing username & passwort and clicking "login", GDM disables the input fields, hides the mouse pointer and is irresponsive from then on. (expected behaviour: start loading GNOME) See attached /var/log/gdm/:0-slave.log for stacktraces. Obviously it's a problem in libtalloc or PAM (I can't log in using KDM or XDM either, the former being KDE doesn't report any errors, the latter has a segfault in libtalloc), but GDM should not freeze up. Instead it should crash completely or display some message. Also there is a critical failed assertion.
