Could we reopen this, please? gedit has highlighting for sh, but not for bash. Most of the time, this works fine for bash, but sometimes it goes wrong. For example, use a command substitution that contains a quote within case-esac as follows. #!/bin/bash case ${SOMETHING} in ( 'a' )
