very similar beahvior:
banshee freezes after playing some titles or crashes right after start.
My suspense is (for my machine) this bug happens if i try to access a
file, which is deleted on disk - but not in the media lib of banshee.

From the strace it seems that banshee is trying to read from socket
/tmp/.X11-unix/X0 endlessly (see line #3508 and following in attached
strace)

Don't know whether this is relevant or not, but sending SIGQUIT to
banshee (as suggested in http://banshee.fm/contribute/file-bugs/) causes
the attached stack trace to be written to the terminal. There is no
~/.config/banshee-1/banshee.log file generated, but that may be because
