When I login, the icons, folders and files on the Desktop are all jumbled up , sit on top of each other and there is no uniformity . The desktop looks like a mess. This however, is easily fixed by hitting refresh (F5 ) or by selecting "organize desktop by name" from the right click options. I think this is a bug as we should not need to refresh . Ubuntu should automatically do it during logon. Please see the attached screenshot for more clarity. The issue is visible in the highlighted areas. --- ApportVersion: 1.23-0ubuntu4 Architecture: amd64 DistroRelease: Ubuntu 11.10 InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 11.10 "Oneiric Ocelot" - Release amd64 (20111012) NonfreeKernelModules: wl Package: nautilus 1:3.2.1-0ubuntu3.1 PackageArchitecture: amd64 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.0.0-14.23-generic 3.0.9 Tags: oneiric running-unity Uname: Linux 3.0.0-14-generic x86_64 UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) UserGroups: adm admin cdrom dialout lpadmin plugdev sambashare vboxusers To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nautilus/+bug/908855/+subscriptions -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages Post to : desktop-packages@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
