I think issues reported here are getting off topic. This bug report
concerns the failure to implement the phone style number pad, at least

And I don't think this bug is a duplicate of bug #985065 because that
regards French layout. I'm using US style layouts and I have the ATM
/phone-style problem.

I can confirm this is still an issue in 12.04 release, x64. (Just in
case anyone was wondering.)
These should work in the meantime:
caps - ctrl: setxkbmap -option ctrl:nocaps
caps - ctrl and Programmer Dvorak: setxkbmap -layout us -variant dvp -option
ctrl:nocaps
caps - ctrl and Programmer
If I run setxkbmap no without changing layouts or anything, the ctrl-
switch starts working. Should I report this in bug #985065 instead of
here?

French layout here. There is absolutely no way to swap Caps lock and Ctrl, and
that's a HUGE problem for me (cannot work).

- then layout work (but the displayed lang is not always correct)

Hi, Same problem from me
can't switch between different layouts (Fr - Ar)
- keyboard shortcut don't change layout (ex : ALT+MAJ)
- so a have to change it with the mouse even there it doesn't work and I'm

Changing location of ctrl key (swap it with caps lock) doesn't work for
me. And I miss it. Ubuntu 12.04, installed beta1, upgraded with latest
packages.
Was working in 11.10 and earlier.
