[Desktop-packages] [Bug 943197] Re: specified routes don't get set up

2012-07-07 Thread Thomas Hood
I was able to reproduce the symptoms and then fix the problem as
described here:

https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=712315

Perhaps this applies to you too. That is, first make sure that you can
set that route manually

ip route add 1.2.3.0/24 via 10.0.0.5 dev eth0 metric 1

If you get

RTNETLINK answers: Invalid argument

then no route is added and NM also can't add that route.

Can you confirm that the route you are trying to create can be set up
using ip route? Please post the command you use and the text you
enter into the applet.

Even if it turns out that your problem was also incorrect route data,
it's still a shortcoming in nm-applet that it doesn't inform the user.

** Bug watch added: Red Hat Bugzilla #712315
   https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=712315

** Changed in: network-manager (Ubuntu)
   Status: New = Incomplete

** Summary changed:

- specified routes don't get set up
+ NM doesn't set specified route
