extensions got upgraded automatically yesterday or today. It's working
fine now. I removed the Blinking Alert extension because this version of
thunderbird provides a good alert feature. I still miss having the

Right after I posted my previous comment I googled and found a solution
for the folder view switching. There is an extension available that
provides it now. It's called Folder Pane View Switcher and it works
just fine. I provide a URL below but it's not needed if you use the
thunderbird add-on

I will note that I am also experiencing some frustration after this
update. It looks to me like this was much more than a bugfix. My add-ons
(Blinking Alert, CompactHeader) don't work. There are some changes to
