monitor I use at work was showing a black background instead of the

The AST2400 is a server graphics chip. Is this a server? If so, I
wouldn't worry about it running in low graphics mode. FYI, support for
the AST2400 VGA chip was added in the 3.16 kernel.

I have (apparently) solved the problem. In several printer definitions
printers.conf had a long (some 4000 chars?) configuration line (see at
the end of this message). There were recurring errors in cups/error_log
stating "Unknown configuration directive" which I had not noticed. I

Same problem for me after update to 16.10.
Menu still available with alt+left click drag. But getting the menu without
using the keyboard is very useful and not more possible.
I hope this will be corrected.

I have these two problems on two machines as well (both after upgrading
to 16.10). One machine exhibits *just* the two symptoms you describe,

I've found I can get Unity8 to render in virt-manager (Qemu/KVM) with
Display set to Spice and Video: QXL.
That might be a faster target (for QA) then getting full software
rendering. The only showstopper is the mouse doesn't let me go across

I can confirm I'm getting this error too. Althou it seems to be a bit random I
can confirm I didn't get it in Ubuntu 12.04.
I wish I could be more precise but I can't tell if this is something caused by
other process... so I can't tell if started happening on 16.04 or after
installing some pack

Unfortunately the problem has got worse in Ubuntu 16.10 with Nautilus
3.20.3: nothing can be moved to the "Rubbish Bin" anywhere in an NTFS
partition on the hard disk now (the reason given for this is "Unable to
find or create wastebasket directory" and manually creating such a
directory leads to n
The backslashes were caused by a bug in cups-browsed (package cups-
filters) which I have already fixed before release of 16.10. So after
once removing these entries manually, they should not show up again and
show the crash should not occur again.
But in general, CUPS has no sufficien protection
