I've noticed that when the computer is idle, it tries to lock the
screen, but a few seconds later, it returns to the desktop.

You are right. It looks like a problem with the ActivKey device.
I don't see what change could have created this regression.
First, do not use virtual machine. They often make the things more complex to
debug.
Second, try to re-install a previous version of Ubuntu to check it was working
fine.
