This is really serious for me, because I need to resolve the address of
an internal Kerberos Server, who's IP is not public. We use /etc/hosts
for that. So Kerberos relies on DNS and this problem breaks my config
and a lot of other user's as well. So at the moment we cannot login,
beacuase
I removed my comment, because I found out that there was a mistake in my
Kerberos config. I couldn't figure it out because the ping host
doesn't work in my case because the companies firewall doesn't allow
it. Its better to use something like traceroute host in this case. But
sometimes one cannot

Ok, the screenshot is wrong and doesn't include the mouse pointer. I
haven't found a way to make a screenshot and including the mouse pointer
(ksnapshot does not include the mousepointer #869652). I actually got
the cursor, that is used to select text.

Sound from my headphones disappears when the volume slider is around 30%

A look at alsamixer in the terminal shows the PCM value is 00 on the audio
device.
The slider in Ubuntu's desktop environment is at 100% when alsamixer shows PCM

Wow thats from 2014. Totally different computer running 20.04 now.
That said, the volume settings were flakey in the asus mobo even on ubuntu
19.10.
Resolved by chucking it.
