This bug (or at least one very similar in output) seems to still exist
on Debian as of yesterday at least.   The boot error is the same, and
depending on the distro/install method (net vs. cd) it may or may not be
possible to boot GUI, and even when possible, the fonts are all
illegible (blockish blurs).  I thought this had to do with using a newer
NVidia card (Geforce GTX 750 Ti Maxwell chip) on a somewhat older Intel
D975XBX2 MB but perhaps not.
