Icons are disabled by default in GNOME3 and must be enabled using the following
command entered into the terminal:
gsettings set org.gnome.settings-daemon.plugins.xsettings overrides
"{'Gtk/ButtonImages': <1>, 'Gtk/MenuImages': <1>,'Gtk/EnablePrimaryPaste': <0>}"

This is a feature request and not bug, as far as I know.
I'm an SWT developer working on Eclipse. Eclipse has a dark theme for
GTK3 which basically uses the system dark theme/variant to style itself.
We have lots of Ubuntu users who report bugs with the Eclipse dark theme
Many comments here seem to point to oxygen-gtk as the culprit. If this
is the case, there is nothing we can do. If someone is able to reproduce
the issue using a pure SWT snippet, please feel free to re-open this bug
against Oxygen.
