The change was that Deja Dup now reports such failures to the user. I
had originally not reported them because of cases like /etc/shadow,
where it would just be noise. But I had several cases where users
thought they had backed something up (like another user's home folder),
never received a
~/.cache is secretly excluded by default. And my general answer for
these sorts of things is that apps should be putting their cache files
in ~/.cache as the XDG spec suggests.

1) (And I believe this was true when you filed this bug?) The name fades out as
it approaches the logo. So there's not true visual overlap.
2) The font used for the user name is smaller in 12.10
3) The login box is wider for 12.10
4) The logo is not

now. I'll leave this bug open for the nautilus support, but can you
confirm it's missing for you? Note that it doesn't show for folders
that aren't in your list of folders to be backed up.

The two main features are NetworkManager support
If this doesn't happen in time for Beta1 Freeze, I'll push tomorrow with
the two features disabled to get the rest of the changes in under the
UIF wire. But I'd really like to get at least the NM change in before
Beta1.

Support PAM prompts with multiple inputs
lightdm 1.3.3 and unity-greeter 12.10.2-0ubuntu1 uploaded to quantal.
Both have this feature disabled for now via distro patches. But the
code is there.

OK, I think I know why this is happening, though I can't reproduce
myself. I have uploaded gnome-settings-daemon 3.4.2-0ubuntu12 to
quantal-proposed. I'd really appreciate testing by those that get this
crash. I'm confident, but not certain I've got the right fix.

Can't reproduce on my normal non-NFS setup, so the NFS bit must be
important.
I would not at all be surprised if unity-greeter is responsible for
this. Is there an easy way to fake NFS /home without actually doing it?
