Title:
GNOME sessions need renaming (too many people are choosing the X11 one
  over Wayland)

Status in gnome-session package in Ubuntu:
  Fix Released

Bug description:
GNOME sessions need renaming (too many people are choosing the X11 one
  over Wayland).

  This would be because:

  X11 is named "GNOME"
Wayland is named "GNOME on Wayland"

A consequence of many people choosing the former is a high rate of X11
