About the reference to bug #1706605: I was experiencing this instability before. Someone found that it was related to Oracle Java. I removed it and reinstalled OpenJDK. It started this week. I was with Writer opened. Until now I can see two different behaviors. Sometimes libreoffice crashes and reopen asking to recover my files. Other times, my computer freezes completely. Sometimes I could restart with CTRL+ALT+DEL, others I need to hard reset.
