Hi Colm
It's on the broker side, not on the client side. However, the change
is also on client side as it's on the openwire marshalling (shared
between the client and the broker).

This release is an important release on the 5.17.x series, bringing

Hi Art,
I disagree: as said on Slack, it works fine with JMS 1.1 with you
provide the right bundle (thanks to dependency flag). So, it's
possible to still use JMS 1.1 bundle (geronimo) if you provide before
installing the activemq-client feature.
If you don't provide jms 1.1 bundle, by default,
6.2 before?

By the way, you can see in activemq-client:
javax.jms;version="[1.1,3)",
So:
1. if your application uses the same range, it works
2. if your application use [1.1,2), than, simple add javax.jms
(geronimo) 1.1 bundle

Hi,
It's already on track, with Jira and PR:
https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/AMQ-9130
https://github.com/apache/activemq/pull/925
I plan to submit 5.17.3 release to vote next week.

And back to your question, jackson (including jackson-databind) is
used only in webconsole (and partition but that's rare ;)).
So basically, if you don't use/expose ActiveMQ WebConsole, you don't
have any risk. Furthermore, jackson databind is used in webconsole to
marshall/unmarshall console

Hi Clebert,
I'm +1 about this for the two reasons:
1. I don't think lot of people read the Javadoc on website (personally
I'm reading directly in the IDE)
2. We can still have the javadoc jar published on Maven (not need to
update website)

Hi Bruce,
Yes, I saw the notification.
I think we can bootstrap the report on wiki, starting from the last
one. Then, we can contribute on it, with deadline on Tuesday evening.

Hi,
We have a consensus. So I will process creating a Jira and preparing a PR.
Thanks all for your feedback.

Hi,
We already removed the activemq-camel component from ActiveMQ distribution.
However, we still have references to Camel in ActiveMQ distribution
(in the conf example, in the shipped libraries, ...).
For ActiveMQ 5.18.x, I propose to completely remove any reference to Camel.
No objection ?
