Hi,

Allura's docs & docker images are only updated for Ubuntu 18.04, so its possible something is different under Ubuntu 20.04. But I wouldn't expect any major issues, just package names might be different or something like that. And if you aren't seeing any errors, seems unlikely that is the problem.

What it sounds more like is your vbox ip address and/or port aren't being reached properly. This part of the docs https://forge-allura.apache.org/docs/getting_started/install_each_step.html#next-steps says to access http://localhost:8080 but your virtual box probably has its own IP address and you can try substituting "localhost" for that ip address.

If that gets you any further, then you should also edit development.ini and update the "domain" and "base_url" settings to the right ip address. And restart allura's gunicorn server.

Hope that helps,

Dear Apache Allura team,

I have been using Allura since 2016 on Ubuntu 16 and 18, with some minor problem, but I was able to make it running anyhow.

Now I tried to install the latest version 1.13.0 from the scratch on a new Vbox Ubuntu 20.04 server, using exclusively python 3 and following the web site instructions, but without any apparent mistake “connection refuse” is the only result I obtain when  I’m trying to connect.

No apparent problems looking at the log files; thus before to start explain in detail what I have done, system configuration, etc., the question is :  does Allura run under Ubuntu 20.04?  or there is some changes to apply to the published installation procedure or to some module.

Thanks for your attention.
