Re: [Discuss] Future of AriaTosca
Sorry to not respond to this thread; been very busy with my new gig. I am happy to setup a Zoom for this Thursday or Friday and take meeting minutes which will be published to this list/Slack. The challenge has always been the spanning timezones. Tal is in Central, I am EST and DJ is GMT+2 I think. I propose we book 10 or 11AM EST which is more or less in the center of those. —Tom > On May 16, 2018, at 1:40 AM, Suneel Marthi <suneel.mar...@gmail.com> wrote: > > DJ, if u could setup a call - please go ahead and do it - I really don't > have time for this given my day job. > > If Tal and other committers could join the call and decide on future course > of action that would be great. > > > > On Wed, May 16, 2018 at 1:30 AM, D Jayachandran <d.jayachand...@ericsson.com >> wrote: > >> Hi Suneel, >> >> We in Ericsson are actively working on ARIA. John, I think DJ meant by “we” that he internally uses Skype. The Aria project always used a Zoom session that was published to the mailing list and Slack. We did not meet privately; all grooming meetings were made public and everyone invited. I only added another grooming slot to accommodate DJ’s timezone (India) as others were in PST, and he happened to be the only other participant for those couple of meetings. Meeting minutes were sent to Slack and the mailing list for every meeting. Please see the mailer archives. —Tom > > On Wed, May 16, 2018, 7:16 AM Suneel Marthi <smar...@apache.org> wrote: > >> DJ, >> >> You don't need me for this meeting and I won't be able to make it anyways. >> Its best to coordinate with AriaTosca PMC and committers as to what's a >> good time that works for all. >> >> I'll let Tal and others respond to that. >> >> Suneel >> >> On Wed, May 16, 2018 at 2:39 AM, D Jayachandran < >> d.jayachand...@ericsson.com >>> wrote: >> >>> Hi Suneel, >>> >>> What is the meeting tool which is preferred. Re: [Discuss] Future of AriaTosca
Hi John, they were not private meetings -- everyone was invited on the public dev list, but the community is small enough that it likely felt quite intimate. :) I'm not sure what a meeting would accomplish. I have moved on from AriaTosca, as I am no longer am paid to work on it. I can't speak for Tom, but I imagine he would say the same. I personally have no objections to someone else picking up the project and taking it over. I've contacted Cloudify, the company who provided the seed code and paid for the majority of the work on it until now, but they have not responded. On Wed, May 16, 2018 at 6:38 AM John D. While it may help to have meetings ultimately its a sign of the problems here. All discussion, including PR questions, should be on list. All github commentary is sent to a list as well. I personally had no idea DJ and Tom met privately to review. DJ, You don't need me for this meeting and I won't be able to make it anyways. Its best to coordinate with AriaTosca PMC and committers as to what's a good time that works for all. I'll let Tal and others respond to that. Suneel On Wed, May 16, 2018 at 2:39 AM, D Jayachandran <d.jayachand...@ericsson.com > wrote: > Hi Suneel, > > What is the meeting tool which is preferred. RE: [Discuss] Future of AriaTosca
Hi Suneel, What is the meeting tool which is preferred. We usually use skype meeting calls. Also can we have the meeting scheduled tomorrow. Could you please let me know your comfortable time for the meeting ? Re: [Discuss] Future of AriaTosca
DJ, if u could setup a call - please go ahead and do it - I really don't have time for this given my day job. If Tal and other committers could join the call and decide on future course of action that would be great. RE: [Discuss] Future of AriaTosca
Hi Suneel, Currently there is no pending PR's from my side. Earlier Tom and myself used to have one to one discussion for merging a PR. We have many contributions pending from our side which we have made as PR yet as we don’t have any committer to acknowledge and merge it I can send those contributions as PR, if we have committers to review and merge it. RE: [Discuss] Future of AriaTosca
Hi Suneel, We in Ericsson are actively working on ARIA. We want to keep the project on and community active. It is just that we couldn't make any contribution because there is no active committer. I already contacted you regarding the same. Could we setup a short call to discuss on this?
