Hi all,
As there is currently not great visibility into the nightly builds and
tests that crossbow runs, it's not surprising that many of them are
failing. See
https://github.com/ursa-labs/crossbow/branches/all?page=2&query=nightly-624&utf8=%E2%9C%93
for the builds and
https://github.com/ursa-labs/crossbow/branches/all?page=2&query=nightly-625&utf8=%E2%9C%93
for the tests.

I did some triage and ticketing today, and there appear to be 15
distinct issues (fittingly enough for the 0.15 release) . See
https://issues.apache.org/jira/issues/?jql=project%20%3D%20ARROW%20AND%20priority%20%3D%20Blocker%20AND%20resolution%20%3D%20Unresolved%20AND%20fixVersion%20%3D%200.15.0%20AND%20component%20%3D%20%22Continuous%20Integration%22%20ORDER%20BY%20priority%20DESC%2C%20updated%20DESC

I labeled all of them as "blockers" because the builds we care about
should be all green if we're doing a release. So a satisfactory
resolution to some of these may be to skip (adding another Jira to
unskip them in the future) or delete the crossbow job because we have
decided that we don't care about them. Better to make the active
decision not to care about things than to have a bunch of failing
builds that we have to know that it's ok to ignore.

I assigned a few tickets to people that I know to have maintained
relevant bits of code, but most are unassigned, so volunteers are
needed. Ask not what Apache Arrow can do for you, ask what you can do
for Apache Arrow!

Neal
