I added Gremlin and Rexster APIs as an experiment and mostly for testing
instead of pointing Titan to the DB instance outside. I should have
annotated them as LimitedPrivate to avoid confusion.
If you notice, Gremlin is a pass-through today and we did not intend to
support it in the long run.
Nigel,
Since most of the active contributors are very familiar with HBase, we have
tested it with HBase and documented the steps in the wiki. We have run any
formal performance but we know HBase scales.
OTOH, if anyone from the community is willing to test Cassandra, we
definitely would love to
+1 (binding)
- signatures and hashes are correct
- DISCLAIMER exists
- LICENSE and NOTICE good, but license main contain too many things (see
below).
- no unexpected binaries in release
- all source files have Apache headers
- can compile from source
Thanks!

This is a feature that will be available in the next release of both Atlas
and Ranger. Ranger implements ABAC based on traits in Atlas.

Its in our backlog, will get to it in the future. You could work around it
today with modeling namespaces as a string, which is what we have done for
table names and database names in Hive.

It would be much cleaner to add a [Entity/Type]ChangeListener for this and
avoid duplication of code.

Nigel,
Atlas has sufficient abstraction over the repository and does not want to
expose it to the users. Given that we have a type-specific DSL, we would
like users to interact with the system using that or full-text search.
Rester read-only API was added for testing and I purposefully left out
We use this as a namespace to avoid collisions from a DR site pushing the
same set of metadata elements into Atlas.
If Ambari supported multiple clusters, we could have leaned on it. In the
absence of such a feature, we are left with this kludge. We may not be able
to default to a static string
