Camel 3.x is still Java 8 supported.
At some time we will would drop Java 8 but it's not in the near future.
Yes 3.4 will be EOL in june 2021.
A LTS release is 1 year supported.

Okay so the experiment is complete. The CI server tests looks great
and the pooled vs prototype is very promising.
I have reverted back so Camel out of the box uses prototype scope
which is what it has always been.
