Dear all, On behalf of the community I would like to announce that the Apache Cassandra project has been accepted to participate in the Grace Hopper Conference 2022 Open Source Day. Thank you Paulo for submitting an application! This event is a virtual hackathon-like event where participants of the Grace Hopper Celebration conference (http://ghc.aniitab.org) get mentorship on initial steps to contribute to Open Source projects.
A summary of the requirements: * at least 5 LHF issues triaged submitted before Friday, September 2nd (the actual event is on 16th September) * 1-3 mentors This submission was approved by the PMC So far Benjamin and Melissa agreed to support this initiative. Paulo and I got registered as mentors. I just created first potential ticket with the label ghc-lhf - CASSANDRA-17797. Honestly, I stole from Benjamin the ticket template from the Advent Calendar tickets. :-) If anyone else is interested to help with triaging some tickets, please, feel free to reach out or just open a ticket and assign it the ghc-lhf label. Paulo was considering maybe moving some of the nodetool functionalities to virtual tables? We are open to hear any and all ideas.
