Do you have the same IP and the same port for both requester and receiver?

OK. I understand.
For the moment, replace test_util.erl from utils with the file attached
here. This should remove COUCHDB_TEST_PATH from the path. I will rewrite
test_util.erl to get the paths independently for your repo.

now too much about relative
paths). Can you try to set it as a full path and execute the tests again?
You don't need to clean anything from the previous executions.

Have you modified the parameters from test.cfg to point to your CouchDB
installation?

"Dubious, test returned 1 (wstat 256, 0x100)" says that the permissions are
not in place (therefore, files cannot be created/access, processes are not
started/accessible and so on). Could you tell me where exactly you got that
error?

Let us know if any test fail and give us the log of the tests. The tests
themselves are pretty self explanatory. If not, at least some tests are
using the CouchDB log. So, I think there will be enough info for debugging.

Not at all. After all, I do not do this for my personal interest, but for
this community. I am glad if I can help.

dding the CouchDB users (to get an idea
which is the desired Ubuntu distro) and/or Debian (you may get support in
testing and debugging) lists wouldn't be such a bad idea, but it's your
call here.

they need to be sure they have no blame there. I would write that kind of
article after I stopped being pissed off. But that is me and,
unfortunately, they acted too soon in my opinion.

So, in the end, what matters is how this product will go on, not what some
think of. A word for devs: keep up with the good work!

Hi Benoit,
Thanks for the fast reply. It's sad how legal stuff stays in the way of
simplifying problems.
Just another question (I am very curious today, it seems). Do other
licenses have the same impediment? I mean, for example, BSD license.

do that job?
Maybe there is a trivial answer for that question which I miss and I know I
am not the only one who gave a thought about that, but I am wondering why
such an idea didn't pass the developers vote (especially when Jason's
buildcouch is using this idea). Just curiosity.

oing it without that thought (I think).
As I said, even if I wanted to become a dev, I am not able to take that
step because I have no time. But if I started, I would follow what I wrote
here.
I hope these thoughts will help removing the "(perceived) barriers to
entry".

Hi,
I created an account (linked to this e-mail) for helping in updating the
Wiki pages. Can anyone help me to have edit access there? Thank you in
advance and sorry for disturbing you with such a small problem.
Best regards,

Hi Joan,
I am interested.

As previously described, this course will get you up to speed in Erlang

I hope this information will help.
