Rat, Wisker, and tentacles

I note that all 3 of these project fall under the "creadur" moniker. Are they intended to work together? I note that Rat has the capability of examining archives and that a quick reading of tentacles indicates that it does the same. Any guidance concerning how these tools are to be used together
