Apache release votes should be open for at least 72 hours [1] and every new RC requires that PMC "Before voting +1 PMC members are required to download the signed source code package, compile it as provided, and test the resulting executable on their own platform, along with also verifying that the package meets the requirements of the ASF policy on releases". Hi RC reviewers and testers, There are a couple of RC2 minor issues that are flagged as errors in the IDE ( in Eclipse, and may be in IntelliJ ). See DRILL-6650 and DRILL-6651 for detail. These two do *not* matter for the Maven build, or for testing the tarballs, etc. So if you started a long testing cycle with RC2, you may continue. I will produce a new RC3 soon to include the fixes for the above. (Note that this RC3 would be *force-pushed* into branch 1.14.0 , thus erasing the RC2 commit ID) And if no one objects, the voting deadline would remain as is (Aug 2nd) as the differences have a very minor impact. Built from source, ran unit tests, also Functional and Advanced tests. Downloaded tar.gz and started Drill in embedded mode on Windows. On both installations ran random queries against system tables and files (mostly long-running queries).
