PMC volunteers for mailing list moderation?
Hi, Could we have 1-2 additional volunteers from the Flex PMC to moderate the project's mailing lists? I'm going to step down from that now that Flex graduated. If you volunteer, please let me know which email address (registered as an alias at https://id.apache.org/) you'd like to use for that There's some info about what that means at http://www.apache.org/dev/committers.html -Bertrand

No worries, what you've got is much better, I was just playing around with the original redesign and the CMS, seeing if I could match the two. RE: [Marketing] - Telling the world that we are a TLP...
Thanks for the work! At first glance it looks good to me, but I didn't get into the details too far. We need to make sure we run it by pr...@apache.org. They will review the release and make sure it meets ASF requirements and they will help us distribute it. I have contacted Sally K. at the ASF and received her instructions about the proper way to distribute this getting her help. I need to make sure we have complete details in the document which are as accurate as possible prior to sending her our draft. And, thanks for the very quick help, Greg!
Re: [Marketing] - Telling the world that we are a TLP...
My general impression is there are too many words even ignoring the last paragraphs which I'm guessing are required by Apache. Are we sure we shouldn't do a press release for becoming a TLP and another one for the 4.9 release? My personal opinion is that this kind of press release needs to grab the reader's attention in the first few sentences or it will get deleted before it completely read. The first sentence isn't a complete sentence. Additionally, given we want to advertise Apache I don't think the first sentence should contain Adobe and have no mention of Apache. Flex, the Adobe Systems (ADBE) seeded Open Source software framework used for building and maintaining expressive web applications that deploy consistently on all major browsers, desktops and devices (including smartphones, tablets and TV). The futures paragraph seems out of place to me or maybe it is just because the writing style is different than the rest of the document. Since the press release is from Denver, internationalisation should be spelled in American English. If left in its present form there are other sentences that need cleaning up as well. Carol On 1/7/13 4 :26PM, Guthmann, Scott sguthm...@on3solutions.com wrote: I drafted a press release to announce Flex becoming a TLP and also announcing the new version 4.9 + installer 2.0. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1bThdnEJZ20y0eStK863kcLSw7joDqKhw6THVLe 2dCVQ/edit Will you please validate the technical accuracy of the DRAFT? Re: Links on downloads page
Hi, All links on this page point to incubator based paths: http://flex.apache.org/download.html But the file here: https://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/flex/site/trunk/content/download.mdtextseems to have all the correct links. I want to do a Publish of the site, but I see a whole lot of changes pending. I am guessing that Nick is currently working on some pages? I fixed the links yesterday (on several pages) but got distracted by building the new installer - you can publish all of those pending changes. Thanks, Justin
Re: [VOTE] Release Apache Flex SDK Installer 2.0 - RC3
Hi, +1 (binding) Tested Mac version. Minor issues - for next release?: - Install progress popup window changes height during steps - make initial size big enough for two lines of text? - License check boxes are still red/green and it's not immediately obvious what a user should do. IMO need to add text along the lines of Please tick the check boxes of the required licences to continue the installation. - Add a close button to the final popup, users may think it modal and not realise you can click on the main close button. Thanks, Justin
