Apache Geode at SpringOne Platform - lots of great content

2018-07-26 Thread Jagdish Mirani
Hello Geode enthusiasts:

Great news - we received many high calibre session proposals, and the Geode
lineup at the SpringOne Platform is turning
out to be even bigger than last year. The sessions are being posted to
a dedicated
page that shows all the Geode related sessions
. We're still adding more.

You can register here
.
Prices go up by $200 after July 31st. You can also use the following
*discount code* to get an additional $100 off a conference pass:
*Attendee_Geode_100*. The registration covers the entire conference.

We're *starting on the afternoon of Monday, Sept 24th* (1PM) - the day
before the main conference opens. This gives us a solid additional half day
for Geode, without any competing sessions running concurrently. We're using
this extra time for more sessions, discussions and community building. In
addition to the Monday program, we'll also have several Geode sessions
during the main conference (Tuesday, Sept 25, thru Thursday Sept 27th).

Hope to see you there. Let me know if you have any questions.

...and just between you and me, if people knew how easy is to generate this
report using the template, they wouldn't be so reluctant to put forth a
little effort on behalf of this great project :). Oh, did I say that out

Re: Geospatial command support in Redis adapter

You only need to ask for contributor permissions if you want to assign or
resolve a ticket. Anyone who registers can create a ticket.

Thanks Aditya!
I believe this will indeed be a useful contribution!

We as a community have an agreement that each commit should have a JIRA
ticket. If you can register on
https://issues.apache.org/jira/secure/Dashboard.jspa, and let us know your
username, someone here will give you permission to create a JIRA ticket.

2018-07-26 Thread Mark Bretl
Hi Everyone,

Its that time again to submit a report for the August Board Meeting. We
need to submit a report by August 8th. Would anyone like to volunteer to
write a draft of the report?

Geospatial command support in Redis adapter

2018-07-26 Thread Aditya Anchuri
Hello,

I recently forked geode on github and started working on adding geospatial
commands (supported in Redis >3.2) to the Redis adapter (GEOADD, GEOPOS,
GEOHASH, GEODIST, GEORADIUS and GEORADIUSBYMEMBER). I am wrapping up my
work on this, but before I make a PR I would like to know if this is a
feature that people are interested in having? If so, would there be a JIRA
ticket created? This is my first time contributing to Geode.

Thanks,
-Aditya
