[jira] Resolved: (GERONIMODEVTOOLS-333) Error when deploying the Geronimo calculator-stateless-pojo sample

2008-04-22 Thread Tim McConnell (JIRA)

 [
https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/GERONIMODEVTOOLS-333?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:all-tabpanel
 ]

Tim McConnell resolved GERONIMODEVTOOLS-333.

Resolution: Fixed

The org.apache.geronimo.jee.openejb package is now based on the
http://openejb.apache.org/xml/ns/openejb-jar-2.2 namespace (instead of the
http://geronimo.apache.org/xml/ns/j2ee/ejb/openejb-2.0). As it is now there is
no factory method for creating a geronimo-openejb.xml file, thus only
openejb-jar.xml files can be created from the GEP).

Oracle 10g RAC / Geronimo 2.0

2008-04-22 Thread Xavier Naud

Hi,

I need to access an Oracle Rac (cluster) from Geronimo. For that, I need to
setup a datasource with a few additional properties to specify the hosts
part of the cluster. However, I also need to setup an Oracle specific
connection pool that manages the fail overs (the swithc between the rac
servers).
In the web console, the connection pools are limited to using the standard
connection pool. Is there another way to specify the connection pool class
and its properties?

Thanks

Xav

After a reboot, I even removed my .m2 repo, and did an mvn clean install, and
redid the steps, and that did not fix the problem either. :-(

Attachment: download21problem.txt

I am attaching my complete log file, from which I extracted the errors above.

One of my machines is completely unrecoverable from the dreaded "unable to save

1. erase contents of workspace directory
2. reboot machine
3. perform all of the steps in

Please see below discussion on wtp-dev:

When you defined your JBI runtime, you probably copied something like this into
your plugin.xml file:

  ...

  ...

This sets up the classpath provider associated with the runtime component type
(tomcat in this case). If you look in the RuntimeClasspathProvider class you
will see that it only knows about the module facets that ship with WTP. You
will need to either subclass or replace the classpath provider for the JBI
runtime in order to get ClasspathHelper.addClasspathEntries setup classpath for
the JBI facet.

Re: branches/2.1.1 in prep for a 2.1.1 release

2008-04-22 Thread Joe Bohn

Thanks Tim,

We have some scheduled tck runs that include a small subset of the tests
which would highlight any major/pervasive issues. Since we haven't
noticed any issues on trunk I doubt we would hit any in branches/2.1
either. For a full run I or somebody else would have to manually kick
it off. I can do that but I might have to wait a few days until I can
get a machine free to try this out.

Regarding the change it general and 2.1.1 ... It looks like we are ok
to leave this wait until 2.1.2 based upon your input and Kevan's
comments. So at this point I do not anticipate including this in 2.1.1
(which I hope I will have available for vote later today ... yes, I know
I said that yesterday too :-( ).

Is this worth further delaying the 2.1.1 release to include this fix?
I was ready to create the release candidate now but this would delay
us several more days before we could even get anything out for a vote.
(BTW, I have already updated the version numbers in branches/2.1.1 to
remove SNAPSHOT in prep for the release).

If we were to pursue this fix we should do the following:
1) Put the change in branches/2.1 first. (it really needs to go there
anyway and it makes much more sense to merge from branches/2.1 to
branches/2.1.1 than from trunk to branches/2.1.1) - We should do this
now regardless of the plans for 2.1.1

2) Validate TCK on branches/2.1 (2.1.2-SNAPSHOT)
3) IIF things look good in 2.1.2-SNAPSHOT we would move the fix to 2.1.1

Hello,

WADI is not involved at all in farming, i.e. deployment of modules to multiple
Geronimo instances. You need to follow the instructions provided by this WIKI
page http://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/GMOxDOC21/Farming.

The idea is to add a new GBean to the farming configuration for your second
node.

Thanks,

A CLA is ASF-wide, not project specific. So, it would definitely cover
the changes...

Definitely not a dumb question. In the concrete case of someone
making contributions to project A then filing a CLA and later
becoming a committer to project A, I'd think the CLA would cover
all contributions. Similarly, if someone made some contributions
and we asked them to file a CLA and they did, I'd count that as
good enough. Likely some other scenarios which are less clear, but
those two cover the common cases.

And speaking of CLAs, here's a report of users, and their edits,
for whom I could not find a CLA:

http://people.apache.org/~dblevins/gmo-revisions-no-cla.log

I think the easiest thing is to just ask for CLAs from everyone on
this list (definitely some familiar faces in that list).
Afterwards we can deal with what's left which will be a process of
evaluating the contributions and making a judgment call on if they
fall under either the "minor patch" or the "major contribution"
category.

Getting CLA on file certainly seems to help reduce any concerns. Not
sure if a CLA applies retroactively to prior submissions.

You can also send a scanned copy to secretary at apache dot org as noted on
the licenses page Dan mentioned earlier, if that's any easier for anyone.

Currently I have disabled showing enqueue/dequeue count for ActiveMQ queues and

Once that defect is fixed, the list.jsp in activemq-portlet can be edited to

I did a manual look for CLA by last name for everyone who made any
