not like the fact that our .m2 repo is littered with timestamped

We all have our own favorite way of building Geronimo. But how TCK
builds Geronimo affects us all. It would benefit us all to know how the
incremental changes are built in TCK. It is reasonable to assume that
for every minor change TCK does/can not build from an empty .m2 repo. I

The other culprit could be online build. The latest geronimo
SNAPSHOTs were published on April 24th. In an online build, you can
never be certain that you are using your local copy.

I have committed changes in rev 535158. The name of the default
instance is now 'geronimo0', i.e. its 'var' is at geronimo0/var. This
has been tested only on windows. I do not expect any problems with this
change.. In case of a problem, creating an empty var/temp should help.

folder and seems more like a typo error to me.
What about just geronimo-default, or default-instance, or just
default? Or perhaps an instances folder, with geronimo0 inside. I
just have an issue with geronimo0 as a root folder.

of geronimo in your current server image. If you can, it means tck
setup is setting some property (most probably o.a.g.server.dir) to
