How to run Helix tasks without Yarn

Hi,

I am working on implementing helix task and I would like to run without Yarn. 
All examples are implemented using Yarn. Is there a way I can run helix tasks 
without Yarn?

Here is code that I added:

Task: DbMetaDataTask.java
Task Service: DbMetaDataTaskService.java

I would like to start this task service directly. Any document or reference to 
an example will help.
