It was all I found via apt-cache search.

I've now found https://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.4/mod/mod_proxy_fcgi.html
and its Proxy via Handler section.  None of the docs I found before pointed
there.

I tried everything I found via a goog search.  Each time, the php was
returned to the browser unevaluated.

I did see that after my initial reply.

Still anoying.

And I've not found any *working* documentation on how to switch to using
php7.0-fpm and libapache2-mod-fcgid.

Why break h2 w/ prefork.

AIUI, one still needs to use prefork with the perl and php modules.

And it works fine here with 2.4.25.

That change makes 2.4.27 worthless.
