Just reporting that this does work, however it didn't work quite the way that
the docs specified. I ended up having to set it this way:
DefaultRuntimeDir ${APACHE_RUN_DIR}
And in my startup script, I had to export the APACHE_RUN_DIR environment
variable.

You know, that makes sense, except, when you may have multiple instances on a
