Also, the last two builds at builds.apache.org have failed, but b/c they were unable to create a folder for a dependency on their local .m2 repo. As this is something related to where the build is run, I've asked infra to look into it @Dave, You may want to consider publishing the blog post also on jspwiki-wiki.a.o. That would be a new section under https://jspwiki-wiki.apache. org/Wiki.jsp?page=NewIn2.10, which would get linked from the main and news pages Concerning markdown support, I'd like to propose to include the %%markdown behaviour ( https://jspwiki-wiki.apache.org/Wiki.jsp?page=Markdown%20Behavior ) to the standard build. (could be in a next release) Markdown support is an often requested feature; and this is really a light weight approach to use

Re: release plan for 2.10.3
Hi, I've just pushed the 2.10.3-RC1 but seems that the mvn release:prepare phase hasn't executed correctly, so the tag has been generated using 2.10.3-SNAPSHOT as version, which is incorrect. I'm looking into why (probably b/c of generating the release through cygwin, which caused issued when we were using svn [#1] and seems to be causing -other- issues with git as well), but it may take a couple of days before sending the [VOTE] thread. I'm also updating the "How to release page" as it is still svn based and contains some small chunks here and there of outdated info.. apologies for the delay br, juan pablo [#1]: https://jspwiki-wiki.apache.org/Wiki.jsp?page=How%20to%20release#section-How+to+release-Troubleshooting On Tue, Feb 6, 2018 at 12:49 AM, Dirk Frederickxwrote: > hi all, > > > +1 for an upcoming release. > > > @Dave, > You may want to consider publishing the blog post also on jspwiki-wiki.a.o. > > That way we promote even jspwiki more. > (see > https://jspwiki-wiki.apache.org/Wiki.jsp?page=Haddock%20Weblog%20Example ) > An "BLOG" page, next to the NEWS link in the LeftMenu would be nice. > > > Concerning Haddock updates; you may want to point to : > magnifying images, hide/reveal site header when scrolling, > many new image and background styles, styling of jspwiki blogs ... > (see https://jspwiki-wiki.apache.org/Wiki.jsp?page=Haddock%20Styles) > You could also mention advanced usage of %%add-css for eg. custom fonts; > image galleries, background patterns, page ribbons, etc.. > (see > https://jspwiki-wiki.apache.org/Wiki.jsp?page=Category.Add%20CSS%20Style) > > > > Concerning markdown support, I'd like to propose to include the %%markdown > behaviour > ( https://jspwiki-wiki.apache.org/Wiki.jsp?page=Markdown%20Behavior ) to > the standard build. > (could be in a next release) > Markdown support is an often requested feature; and this is really a light > weight approach > to use markdown on a jspwiki site. Re: release plan for 2.10.3
hi all, +1 for an upcoming release. @Dave, You may want to consider publishing the blog post also on jspwiki-wiki.a.o. That way we promote even jspwiki more. (see https://jspwiki-wiki.apache.org/Wiki.jsp?page=Haddock%20Weblog%20Example ) An "BLOG" page, next to the NEWS link in the LeftMenu would be nice. Concerning Haddock updates; you may want to point to : magnifying images, hide/reveal site header when scrolling, many new image and background styles, styling of jspwiki blogs ... (see https://jspwiki-wiki.apache.org/Wiki.jsp?page=Haddock%20Styles) You could also mention advanced usage of %%add-css for eg. custom fonts; image galleries, background patterns, page ribbons, etc.. (see https://jspwiki-wiki.apache.org/Wiki.jsp?page=Category.Add%20CSS%20Style) Concerning markdown support, I'd like to propose to include the %%markdown behaviour ( https://jspwiki-wiki.apache.org/Wiki.jsp?page=Markdown%20Behavior ) to the standard build. (could be in a next release) Markdown support is an often requested feature; and this is really a light weight approach to use markdown on a jspwiki site. ( and you can mix it with regular jspwiki markup, plugins, etc. ) To make it even more easy to use, we should add support for %%%styles. ( see JSPWIKI-1040 for more details ) As a bonus, other cool 'add-on' behaviours ( https://jspwiki-wiki.apache.org/Wiki.jsp?page=Category.Haddock%20Behavior ) like Chartist, Math or SheetJS would benefit as well. @Juan I finally choose not to use the bootstrap grid system, cause it brings in a lot of redundant css styles; while most are not really needed. Cool you noticed I'm using the golden ratio; indeed inspired by alistapart ;-) br, dirk On Mon, Feb 5, 2018 at 9:10 PM, Juan Pablo Santos Rodríguez < juanpablo.san...@gmail.com> wrote: > Hi, > > at least I'd name > - a ton of improvements / fixes on haddock > - jspwiki doesn't have mandatory properties anymore (JSPWIKI-1035 and > JSPWIKI-1051) > - important fixes > - Default log is now redirected to stdout (JSPWIKI-1051) - seems quite > some people stumbled into this one > - Rendering cache fixes (JSPWIKI-1064) > - big list of small fixes > - devs-only: test-jar available > - not directly related to the release, but we're on github now, forks and > PRs more than welcome O:-) > > I wouldn't announce markdown support yet, as it's not yet usable by > end-users (we should have editors' toolbar support for that) > > > br, > juan pablo > > as a side note, haddock-related fact that really caught my eye last week: > haddock is Bootstrap based. Re: release plan for 2.10.3
I'd like to sync this with a blog post containing new fixes and features. I'll have a look through JIRA and collate these, but if anyone has some immediate notes please let me know :) Cheers, Dave On 05/02/18 12:15, Juan Pablo Santos Rodríguez wrote: > Hi Harry, > > that would be nice too, in fact, as most probably the RC is going to be > based on 2.10.3-git-48, we could already deploy it to jspwiki-wiki.a.o.. > O:-D > > > br, > juan pablo > > On Sun, Feb 4, 2018 at 10:21 PM, Harry Metske> wrote: > >> Sounds good to me. >> And what about deploying this release candidate to jspwiki-wiki.a.o ? >> >> Cheers, >> Harry >> >>> Op 4 feb. 2018 om 21:02 heeft Juan Pablo Santos Rodríguez < >> juanpablo.san...@gmail.com> het volgende geschreven: >>> Hi, >>> >>> as stated on past boards reports, we're going to adopt a release train >>> model, aiming to release from master every Feb/May/Sep/Nov, IIRC. >>> >>> so, how about reviewing current master for a few days, let's say until >> next >>> 8th, so the vote can be run through next weekend and, hopefully, >> releasing >>> 2.10.3 on ~12th? sounds reasonable? >>> >>> >>> best regards, >>> juan pablo -- Dave Koelmeyer http://blog.davekoelmeyer.co.nz GPG Key ID: 0x238BFF87 The Document Foundation (TDF) member
