Ivan and Guozhang, Thanks for the thoughts! Ivan's use case is definitely interesting. The way I see it, if we can achieve the main goal of the KIP (allowing Processor/TransformerSuppliers to encapsulate their usage of state stores), we will enable this kind of thing in "user space" very easily.
