Andrew Otto updated KAFKA-1564:
-------------------------------

    Description:
Kafka ships with a bunch of shell wrapper scripts in bin/. These are very
small shell wrappers around Java CLIs. These work, but they are inconvenient
to package, and not particularly elegant.

If there is interest, I'd like to upstream this script:
https://github.com/wikimedia/operations-debs-kafka/blob/master/debian/bin/kafka

Wikimedia and Yelp are both using it in production, instead of the provided
bin/*.sh scripts.
