The Swedish team has a translation looking like this:
Original string:
~Save
Swedish translation:
Spara
But the underline is present in the OOo. So the displayed string IS
~Spara.
Why is the tilde added to the Swedish translation even if it is not in
the string?

I will address this problem as a new issue under ui (Bugs where code
references are not avail.) and post the id of the issue here for tracking.
P.S In case you wonder why the Swedish string hasn't got the ~ sign in
it, this is because it is a mistranslation from ancient times.

If mnemonic is not assigned in the string (by using ~ character) it will
be automatically set during run time. At least this is what

to strings when needed. There are only two exeptions:
- main menu labels
- some pushbuttons (usually those at bottom of dialogs, like Apply,

Thanks Goran, Rafaella, Friedel and Ain for straighting this out.
The automatic accelerator feature was in effect due to the missing ~ sign.
It will be fixed to a static accelerator in the next l10n release.
