Luke P Warwick created SOLR-9674: ------------------------------------ Summary: Facet Values Sort Order: Index should ignore casing Key: SOLR-9674 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/SOLR-9674 Project: Solr Issue Type: Bug Security Level: Public (Default Security Level. Issues are Public) Components: Facet Module, faceting Reporter: Luke P Warwick
Index facet value sorting puts all values that start with a capital letter before all values that start with a lower case letter. Since users often don't know this pattern, nor that the value they are looking for might start with a lower case letter, it leads to confusion and bad experiences, in particular in E-commerce with the 'Brand' Facet. Desired behavior is that the order ignore case. If two values are otherwise equal (Patagonia, patagonia), put the capital first. Example: Current Order: Anon,Marmot,Patagonia,Smith,Zoot, maloja,prAna Desired Order: Anon,Marmot, maloja,Patagonia,prAna,Smith,Zoot -- This message was sent by Atlassian JIRA (v6.3.4#6332) --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: dev-unsubscr...@lucene.apache.org For additional commands, e-mail: dev-h...@lucene.apache.org
