I've kind of asked this before for a different context:

I'm trying to run "mvn site" for the maven site project

Works for me. Is the maven-parent that defines that variable in a place Maven
can find it? (svn up it and install it, or make sure relativePath is right).

Sure, just looking for the context. I've been running tons of stuff with Java 7
on new Redhat/CentOS/Ubuntu machines for a while and haven't seen it. Just
wanted to make sure it wasn't some manifestation of a weird test setup.

It is not specific to Jetty, that is just one manifestation of the problem.
Its Java 7's preference for IPv6

Hi,

Hi,
We solved 8 issues:

sounds good for me too to have a separate rat profile (need to be
activated on ci server)

Please see the diff in https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/MPOM-38.
It adds a rat profile that anyone can use any time, and also activates
it on release. No noisy warnings, just a report in target/ to look at.
If no one objects, I'll commit this and start a release on the pom.

Hervé,
My intention was to have exactly the same component-descriptor, which
included the description.
It seems like the javadoc is not parsed, only the description-attribute of
the annotation is used.
IMO having the same description in both javadoc and annotation-attribute
is even worse.
I think we should activate such a profile on CI before making if fail
releases. A bit skeptical to
stashing that stuff into the release process since it rightfully belongs in
day to day work and there's enough
to do when releasing
I think a "warnonly" mode would be ok no matter what in the rel
If RAT has a WARN-ONLY mode, lets turn that in the release profile on for
now.
I don't want to break releases yet, given what I think is the size of the
problem (being one of the people who has run the RAT reports by hand on a
number of releases)
When we have the problem down to a more manageable

Jason, I hear you, but
It can be a requirement that license headers be intact for releases, that's
perfectly reasonable but put it in a profile. Turn on the profile for the CI
builds if you like but don't put it in the mainline build.
You can fix all the headers using the maven-license-plugin[1] which does a good
job
I've done a quick check. We've got plenty for the rat to complain
about; files in the source tree with no licenses.
There are a couple of ways to go about cleaning this up. The most
draconian would be to prevent any release of anything uncompliant. A
less stringent idea would be to add an executio

I tried the experiment of making the plugins pom use the current
snapshot of the global maven parent, and I got:

This is for a connection timeout that is emanating from Jetty in one of the
