Now we have resolved all planned issues.
If nobody sees issues with the old version of checkstyle I
propose postponed for next release.
Another case is upgradining modello-maven-plugin - I've created an issue
for it [1], need more opinion, and also can be postponed for next release.

One more proposition: Execute checkstyle in early phase of the build [1]
I see that maven-checkstyle-plugin can be upgraded from 3.0.0 to 3.1.1
together with maven-shared-resources in version 3
Can anybody else check this?

on Modello, the big change for 2.0.0 is that it now requires Java 8 to run:
AFAIK, not an issue any more, so we can upgrade
