Looks good. One thing that still seems a bit off to me is that
"Apache" isn't mentioned until near the bottom of your home page (on
my laptop it gets cut off before apache is even mentioned). Most (?)
other incubator projects make it clear right up front that this is an
Apache X project current under incubation... etc

Here are some examples I pseudo-randomly picked:

http://atlas.incubator.apache.org/
http://quarks.incubator.apache.org/

Perhaps you can squeeze your tag line btw your logo and your code example? e.g.

 headers...
"Apache Mnemonic (incubating) is a Java based non-volatile memory
library for in-place structured data processing and computing."
if (mnemonic.inUse)
etc...


Something like that would make it clear right up front that this is an
Apache project.

As for IRC, would it be preferable to have IRC channels or Slack?

One of the advantages of Slack channel is ability to record history of the
