It's trivial to support contributions in the interim.
Work on the donated modules will happen in the canonical Apache repository
while work on the rest of the modules will happen in the Oracle repository.
At the end you convert the whole Mercurial repository and re-apply all the
patches.

Yes, good point, I have a lot of pics -- some have been on Twitter over the
past week -- and will write a blog entry about the whole event, plus photos.

I think we should try to change as little as possible until the 2nd code
donation.
Once the 1st code donation (i.e., 5a-d) is done, i.e., once that code is in
Apache Git, we should not add new features or fix bugs etc, until the 2nd
code donation is done. Until that point, we should do the absolut
I don't believe they can shut down the old repo until everything has been
donated.

Hi all,
I'd like to propose a two-phased code donation -- the first for all the

By the way do you have any photos from there? We could use them to promote
the whole thing and support that NetBeans is getting from conferences and
community. Might give the same idea to others. Just post on FB or twitter

This tweet [1] comes right in time, quoting it:

Let me tell you the saga of that system.

I understand the points on decisions being made on the mailing lists, but
humans make these decisions, and as humans we often have dynamic and active
discussions before such decisions are made or even brought to a more open
or official forum.
Sometimes a group may be working on a feature or a code

This will split the history in half but I believe we can re-apply the
intermediate Apache commits when we do have the full codebase and preserve
the full history.
