Use this build (until Laszlo provides voting candidate 1) and, in the
issue, describe from scratch what to do to reproduce the problem with clear
steps:

Re: AW: NetBeans 10.0 has been branched!

2018-10-01 Thread Laszlo Kishalmi

Well, we can do it via exclusions as well.

Though I need some help in reconfigure:

https://builds.apache.org/view/Incubator
Projects/job/incubator-netbeans-release

It needs to be altered, or I need a configuration rights for it to do
the required changes as of following release100 branch instead of
release90 and adding the new clusters for the release.

On 10/01/2018 01:46 PM, Geertjan Wielenga wrote:

Are you saying we need to delete modules from the release100 branch?

I don't believe we need to do that -- what we are releasing is going to be
a ZIP file, e.g., as seen here, which does not contain the 'enterprise'
cluster (the only cluster we are not releasing):

https://builds.apache.org/job/incubator-netbeans-linux/lastSuccessfulBuild/artifact/nbbuild/

Does that make sense?

Re: AW: NetBeans 10.0 has been branched!

2018-10-01 Thread John McDonnell
Hi,

I tried to find the differences between the release90 and release100 branch:

$ git log --left-right  --oneline upstream/release90..upstream/release100

I got 771 commits, which can be further narrowed down by focussing on
commits with related obviously (messages contain netbeans-) to a Jira
ticket and remove the module review and cluster move commits we're down to
207 messages(attached).

I'll spend some time checking the tickets throughout the week to ensure
they have a fix version of 10.0.

Regards

John

Well, I did a some JIRA work, but we need more:

These issues marked for NB 10 or Later (probably we need to check the
later part):

https://issues.apache.org/jira/issues/?filter=12344968

These are resolved but no version has been specified:

AW: NetBeans 10.0 has been branched!

2018-10-01 Thread Christian Lenz
Hey guys,

nice work. I would like to add smth. I don’t know whether we had a proper list
of resolved Bugs, added new Features for NB 9, but the users are want to know
what is all inside of NB 10. I know the page of the new PHP Features, I already
read it, but for those Bugs and Features, that are added, except from JDK 10/11
and PHP 7.*, we Need a list of all those Things. So IMHO, all of the
Features/Bug fixes, that are coming with NB 10, the Tickets Need a fixed
Version for that to make a list later to Show the users what is inside of it.

For me it was hard to figure out, whether the feature for Jumping to another
pom from within a pom, was implemented in NB 9 or not. I can guess, if came a
bit after the release. But I think the Point is clear, we Need a proper release
mail/release page.

Cheers

Chris

P.S. I know this page:
https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/NETBEANS/Apache+NetBeans+9.0+New+and+Noteworthy
 but I think there were a lot more Little fixes etc. went through NetBeans 9.0
which where not mentioned. If we can make a list of all tickets they where
resolved/closed for NB 9.0, we can point to the tickets instead.

NetBeans 10.0 has been branched!

2018-09-30 Thread Laszlo Kishalmi

Dear all,

I'm happy to announce that our release 10 has been branched from master
on 21:00 PST.

I've went through the list of open issues with PR-s and open PRs. We are
in a pretty good shape now.

I've found the following PRs might be considering into release100 by
cherry picking:

 * NETBEANS-1227
   Mark Windows launcher binary as per-monitor DPI aware
 * NETBEANS-49
   Please add smooth scrolling
 * NETBEANS-1238
   HiDPI icons in tabcontrol and openide.awt modules for Windows LAF
 * NETBEANS-1260
   HiDPI icons in tabcontrol and openide.awt modules for Aqua (MacOS) LAF
 * NETBEANS-602
   Wrong module name detected with multi-release JAR
 * NETBEANS-804
   Update any dependent code for JDK11 Class-file format change
 * NETBEANS-1252
   shifted cursor in output window when selecting text with GDK_SCALE=2

I've created https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/NETBEANS-1321 in
order to track the release work.

I'm about to clean up the code and create the first voting candidate
tomorrow 1st of Oct 2018.

Also try to look on this:
https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/NETBEANS-1197 as its PR has a good
discussion onpossible critical issues for the release:
