Mark Technically, the thing being voted upon is the sources.zip that was placed into the dist folder. There is generally not a tag at this point as per the release guide[1]. In that guide you'll see the process we follow and links to ASF policies and references that are also helpful. Once we

The problem is I don't see the 1.4.0-RC2 (or -RC1) tag. I only see a branch, NIFI-4412-RC2 (which now that I checked out, I do see the proper commit.) Shouldn't there be an RCx tag at this point? Or is that created after the vote passes? And, if that's the case, what's the point of the tag?
