To me this sounds like an excellent idea.
A while ago I wrote some processors I wanted to use in conjunction with
MiNiFi and as a consequence they needed to be built against NiFi 1.7.

With this transition I expect (like to have) the versions of both to be the
same.
So that a processor for NiFi version X will work on MiNiFi version X.
