See https://wiki.openoffice.org/wiki/Documentation/UserGuide/Writer/Styles (feel free to propose enhancements to that page, we can create an account for you to edit it online if you wish). This brings up another question, does the Q-A team have a list of cases it needs to test to make sure that no fixed has been lost? It should have. We use Bugzilla and query it appropriately. Bug reports should go to https://issues.apache.org/ooo/ and we can give you pointers if you need extra documentation. Side note: it seems you often start a discussion by simply replying to an existing one and changing the mail subject. This makes things more difficult to read for those who follow this mailing list in "conversation view" (your message is hidden in another conversation). To start a new conversation, simply compose a new mail to dev AT openoffice.apache.org instead of replying to an existing one: you won't see the difference but e-mail software will. Hi Thorsten, Just for your information: This is an mailing list for English language. ;-) To be honest I don't know why the IE doesn't want to open the Sourceforge website. Have you tried their initial homepage? http://www.sourceforge.net/ As an alternative please have a look for Apache mirror servers: http://www.apache.org/dyn/aoo-closer.cgi/openoffice/ After clicking the link above on the server that is the nearest to you, choose the version, click on "binaries", choose the language via ISO code, choose the file for your wished platform and try again to download. Re: [RELEASE]: proposal for AOO 4.1.1 schedule
On 01/07/2014 Jürgen Schmidt wrote: I propose the following schedule for our upcoming AOO 4.1.1 bugfix release. July 8th, milestone build m2 July 18th, translation deadline July 23th, milestone build m3 August 1th, RC1 - depending on feedback etc. further RC candidates on demand August 26th GA (or earlier, depending on feedback and QA outcome) I already sent a couple of warnings to translators and I'll make sure they are informed. We still have several languages that are "close enough" to be ready for 4.1.1. One of the biggest problems is the upload speed and I calculate at the moment with ~3 days. It's still a pain and no fun. Any opinions or comments? A 3-day delay is very bad, especially considering that we are adding new languages (and that we are not going to adopt other approaches, like multi-language installers, for 4.1.1). Is your upload problem on the Apache end? I mean, could you make the binaries available somewhere else in a much shorter time? In that case we might find a different solution, it is not a requirement that binaries are hosted on people.apache.org (or you can rewrite your people.apache.org URLs to an external server, and/or we could well setup a snapshotbuilds.openoffice.org CNAME for that server). Reporting broken download link
Dear Sir, Madam, I downloaded Apache Open Office 4.1.0. So far, so good. But installation failed; it broke off, and the new version was not installed. I tried twice - without success. New blog post: FOSDEM 2014 presentations and videos
FOSDEM was already a few months ago. In theory, we were supposed to have full video coverage of the whole event. In practice, it didn't work out and we only have minimal coverage, and I don't believe the FOSDEM video team will make additional efforts to put all videos online. So I've simply created a blog post that collects at least the FOSDEM presentations that are relevant to OpenOffice and a few pictures and video fragments. You can find it here: https://blogs.apache.org/OOo/entry/presentations_and_videos_from_fosdem Normally, I would have shared a preview link with the list, but this seems to be broken too, so the only way I had to share the post with the list was to publish it. Of course I can apply any enhancements/corrections you suggest.
