wiki page with Ubuntu 14.04 issues. Please have a look at it and tell me about
the changes.
Thanks,

Sure. Account created, you will get a temporary password in a few minutes.

 i found this link in the wiki page below login button
 lt;userlogin-helplink2gt; ,which needs fixing.

Indeed it needs fixing. I haven't had the time to investigate what the
root cause is, I remember seeing a notice in the Release Notes about
customized Login Help pages in a recent upgrade and that probably
broke the link layout.

Thanks, looks good. I've updated it with information on the already
integrated patch.

Just a question: my Ubuntu 14.04 test machine has gcc 4.8 by default
$ gcc --version
gcc (Ubuntu 4.8.2-19ubuntu1) 4.8.2

so I didn't downgrade 4.9 to 4.8: I've always been on 4.8. Did you have
issues with 4.9 because you had explicitly upgraded to 4.9? Even after
updating all packages I'm still on 4.8.

If people won't get 4.9 unless they explicitly install it, it's better
to make it clearer in the Wiki page too (there is a reference to default
compilers now, but I'd like to check this with you before editing).

  Andrea.

I run on a fully (auto) upgraded Xubuntu 14.04 and have just checked the

Yes.

Once I tried cygwin 64bit under a Windows 7 64bit and the AOO build did
not work.
As AOO is a 32bit application under all Windows platforms I think it

The time.

No Base developers here, before Apache era, only two developer worked on
Base, mostly part time.

He raised some legitimate issue, most of them based on earlier

I looked around the issues, most of them legitimate behaviour, but

Most of the users not hurting these issues, or they can live with these

[Build] Modifying oowintool

2014-08-27 Thread Michal Hriň

Hi,

I'm trying to compile OO on Windows, specifically 8.1.

The problem is that Microsoft provides on the top page only Visual
Studio 2013, and 2010. I'm using free Express edition.

Configure stops every time on compiler. When was used 2010 compiler,
configure says that the version is less than required.

So I went forward with 2013.

But now I don't have an idea how to solve the problem,
probably in oowintool script

https://fisheye6.atlassian.com/browse/ooo/main/oowintool?r=1413471

Configure stops an says:

--
checking for bash... /usr/bin/bash
checking ml.exe assembler path... checking for ml.exe... no
found (/cygdrive/c/Program Files (x86)/Microsoft Visual Studio 12.0/VC/bin)

checking for zip... /usr/bin/zip
checking for unzip... /usr/bin/unzip
checking for dbghelp.dll... found and executable
checking for vcredist_x86.exe... found and executable
checking for vcredist_x64.exe... found and executable
Can't find MS Visual Studio / VC++ at ./oowintool line 248.
configure: error: oowintool failed to copy CRT

--

so I opened this script and saw that it didn't recognize my 2013
compiler so I tried to edit it, but it still not works.

I modified script around line 208, where I added :
--
my %msvs_express_2013 = (

\%msvs_express_2008, \%msvs_2005, \%msvs_express_2005,
\%msvs_net_2003_ea, \%msvs_net_2003 );

for $ver (@ms_versions)
{
	my $install = reg_get_value (HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/ .
$ver-{'key'});

if (defined $install  $install ne '') {
$ver-{'product_dir'} = $install;
return $ver;
}
}
die Can't find MS Visual Studio / VC++;
}

sub find_msvc()
{
my @ms_versions = ( \%msvc_express_2013, \%msvc_2008,
\%msvc_express_2008, \%msvc_2005, \%msvc_express_2005, \%msvc_net_2003 );

for $ver (@ms_versions)
{
	my $install = reg_get_value (HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/ .

if (defined $install  $install ne '') {
$ver-{'product_dir'} = $install;
return $ver;
}
}
die Can't find MS Visual Studio / VC++;
}
--

Any ideas ?

You must use Visual Studio 2008, search Visual C++ 2008 Express

in the Google search is the web installer

If you want to reproduce the build environment used for the releases,
you can use that Express Edition but you need to install the Windows

Hi Andrea,
 so I didn't downgrade 4.9 to 4.8: I've always been on 4.8. Did you have
 issues with 4.9 because you had explicitly upgraded to 4.9? Even after
 updating all packages I'm still on 4.8.
yes, I think I explicitly upgraded to 4.9 to check some compiler option. The
issue 125475 is with g++4.9.

 If people won't get 4.9 unless they explicitly install it, it's better
 to make it clearer in the Wiki page too (there is a reference to default
 compilers now, but I'd like to check this with you before editing).
okay, then, if it is not clear, then please edit it to make it clearer.

 Thanks, looks good. I've updated it with information on the already
 integrated patch.

 Just a question: my Ubuntu 14.04 test machine has gcc 4.8 by default
 $ gcc --version
 gcc (Ubuntu 4.8.2-19ubuntu1) 4.8.2

 so I didn't downgrade 4.9 to 4.8: I've always been on 4.8.

 Regards,
    Andrea.

I run on a fully (auto) upgraded Xubuntu 14.04 and have just checked the
installed version of gcc. Exactly the same as yours, Andrea (4.8.2-19)

 ApacheCon EU is 17-21 November in Budapest.

I fly back friday, and have plenty of time thursday and during apacheCon,
if anybody wants to discuss anything about AOO.

I will use a portion of my time, on the new project I champion...but that
might also be of interest for AOO.
