Well, start by improving the wiki then! I agree that the building guide
can be restructured better, especially in the steps that lead you from
the main page to the individual platforms.

I've just created an account for you on the wiki. You have been sent a
temporary password. Feel free to edit pages as you wish to make them
easier to follow for newcomers.

Any specific issue to work on

2014-10-03 Thread Amali Praveena Soban Kumar
Hi dev,
Have you got any specific issue to work on? I have been working on two issues
from simple-hacks list, but so far have not got the chance to do much coding;
one issue ended up with a single line modification, and another one was a
duplicate with patch already available and accepted.
Thanks,
Amali.

Re: Any specific issue to work on

2014-10-03 Thread Alexandro Colorado
Hi, please look on Bugzillla for issues that can potentially get
solved through coding errors. That said you can just do modifications
of the source code just to understand how it works. That said I am
sure there are some issues that are currently not being reviewed.

You can skip some modules if you run

 build --all:helpcontent2

since this will build only helpcontent2 and further modules that
 potentially depend on it.

But even running the full build --all is not problematic: this will
rebuild only those modules that need rebuilding, so if the first run takes
some hours the other runs often take only a fraction of that time.

If you see that a lot of time is spent in packaging, try adding
--with-package-format=installed to your configure options. You can find
 more details here: http://markmail.org/message/qdgkenmygtrlzxwm

   Andrea.
